Other Rules

Here are some guidelines for the RPG. I consider them very basic but you can always PM a staff member for clarification.

Purchasing Items

Each Town has a standard Poke Mart. Only when you've reached a town can you purchase Poke Mart items. To do this, simply post in the Poke'Mart forum. You add the items to your inventory and subtract the costs from your money yourself. But a moderator or admin must review the purchase before you can be allowed to do it. Every town has a standard Poke Mart but certain towns may have their own special shops in which items may only be purchased there.


-Player owned shops are shops owned by the players themselves. If you wish to have a service provided from another player you must be currently located in a town or city (doesn't matter which one) or have the character who owns the shop be on the same traveling route as yourself. You will post in the player owned shop and both of you must have an admin or mod review the exchange and approve.


Trading

To trade Pokemon, both you and the person trading with must post your end of the trade in the same thread as the person who initiated the trade. All Pokemon Trade threads must be placed in the Global Trading Station. The location of the two people exchanging must either be in the same travel route or a town or city of any location. You do not have to be in the same city/town but you both must be in one if you are not traveling together.

Traveling

There is no real order to how you can travel. After posting in the Professor's forum you can start your journey or advance to anyplace on the main region. Just be sure when you start your thread to give some rhyme or reason to how you got there. The exception to this is Visionnaire Island. In order to get there you MUST roleplay getting on a ferry from Orchidae City or vice versa. Also it is noted that in order to reach the Elite 4 tower you MUST post a travel thread in victory road. Keep in mind that only certain class groups can actually do this. If you are unable to post in Victory Road, you cannot challenge the Elite 4. Victory Road is off limits to anyone who does not have all 8 Pokemon Badges as well. Any threads started by people with less than 8 badges will be deleted without question.


Encounters

In every town city and route (unless specified), you have a chance to encounter Pokemon and/or trainers. These are generated by staff. A staff member will post in your thread indicating who or what you encounter. This is the only way to encounter wild Pokemon or NPC trainers. Pokemon are categorized as being Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare. The higher the rarity, the less likely you are to encounter it.


Capturing Wild Pokemon

At any time during a battle with a Wild Pokemon you may attempt to capture it. To do so you roleplay your character throwing a Poke'Ball at it. Mods will then determine if your capture is successful. If it is you will then be given the necessary info for the Pokemon you captured. You are only allowed to hold 6. After you capture your 6th Pokemon, you must store the others in a PC thread located in the Pokemon Center forum.


Ambushes

Not all people and Pokemon in the Pokemon world are friendly. Some people are downright vicious and will attempt to steal whatever you have. This is what's called an Ambush. Players wishing to ambush another player must have an IN-CHARACTER reason for doing so (you must post the reason in the thread). To attempt an ambush, you will simply post an intervention post in the other player's thread. After that a mod must review the post and determine if the reasons for doing so are valid. If it is ruled valid then you and the player who ambushed you must battle and the person who issued the ambush gets to start the battle. In this case, the ambushed player must take the first attack of the attacker's post.


Ambushes have high consequences for the loser. If the ambushed player loses the battle, the player who ambushed him is allowed to take ONE OF the following: one of the player's Pokemon, half of the player's money, or one item the player has. If the Ambusher is the one to lose, the player ambushed has the option of placing the Ambusher in the custody of an Officer (either player or NPC) and the Ambusher spends 24 hours unable to post in threads except the nearest town where he incarcerated. Or he can steal something the Ambusher has on them (same rules apply).
